The east coast season runs from May through October, as the south coast monsoon closes Mirissa for the season. What opens up is a completely different coastline: ancient, dramatic and largely undiscovered. Blue whales, whale sharks and manta rays inhabit these waters seasonally. The lagoon and wetland systems of the east coast add an entirely different dimension to the multi-day voyages, with estuarine crocodiles, painted storks and dugongs.
